The Spurs came up short in the NBA Finals, but Dylan Harper didn’t.
The standout rookie finished with a team-high 25 points in Saturday’s Game 5 loss to the Knicks, continuing an impressive postseason run that further strengthened his case as one of the league’s brightest young stars.

Still, Harper wasn’t interested in celebrating individual accomplishments after the Spurs’ season ended.
“There was some good, some bad,” Harper said, via Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News. “There were a lot of possessions I want to take back and do differently. But that’s not how the ball bounced. Just got to keep moving on.”
Harper added five rebounds and four assists in the loss, though fatigue appeared to catch up with him late as he missed several key opportunities near the basket.
Regardless, his performance throughout the Finals gave the Spurs another reason to believe their championship window is only beginning to open.
Between Harper, Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, San Antonio’s future appears to be in very good hands.
And if Game 5 was any indication, Harper intends to be a major part of it.
