Steve Nash’s Job Safe Despite Nets’ Disappointing Season

While the Nets have so far been among the NBA’s biggest disappointments, it doesn’t appear as if coach Steve Nash is in any danger of losing his job, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.Steve Nash

Nash has had to deal with several obstacles this season, from Kyrie Irving being unable to play in home games to Kevin Durant‘s midseason injury to the James Harden trade to Ben Simmons not being able to play.

Nash is in his second season with the Nets, guiding them to a 44-38 record in the regular season. They finished with the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference, qualifying for the playoffs courtesy of a play-in tournament win over the Cavaliers.

As of this writing, they trail the Celtics in their first-round series by a generally insurmountable 3-0 count.

“Stein suggests that Nash shouldn’t avoid blame for the Nets’ struggles, but says there are many larger issues in play as well,” wrote Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
