Suns Have Been Discussing Possible Buyout For Bradley Beal

The Phoenix Suns have been discussing a possible buyout for Bradley Beal, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.

Beal has two years left on his contract, totaling $110 million.

A buyout would make Beal an unrestricted free agent. Teams can officially begin signing players to contracts on July 6.

A three-time All-Star, Beal is slated to make $53.7 million next season. He has a player option worth $57.1 million for the 2026-27 season.

The Suns acquired Beal from the Washington Wizards in 2023. Beal has appeared in 106 games with Phoenix. He’s averaging 17.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

Beal is 32. He has career averages of 21.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 801 games with the Wizards and Suns.

The Minnesota Timberwolves swept the Suns in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. Phoenix was so bad last season that the team didn’t even make the play-in tournament despite having Beal, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.

The Suns hired Frank Vogel in 2023 and fired him in 2024. Mike Budenholzer was hired in 2024 and fired in 2025.

Phoenix hired Cleveland Cavaliers assistant Jordan Ott. Hopefully, Ott doesn’t get fired after one season like Budenholzer and Vogel.

Since making the NBA Finals in 2021, the Suns haven’t even been back to the conference finals.

The Houston Rockets agreed to acquire Durant. The Suns acquired Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the 10th pick in this year’s draft and five second-round picks from the Rockets.
