Fall, 26, is 7-foot-6 and appeared in 11 games with the Cavaliers last season, splitting his time between the NBA and the Cleveland Charge of the G League. The Cavs waived Fall on Jan. 9.

A native of Dakar, Senegal, he spent two years with the Celtics and their minor league club before that.

Overall, he has played in 37 NBA games. He spent this past summer league with the Jazz, but has failed to receive a camp invite with anybody as an unrestricted free agent.

He will fill the roster spot vacated by guard Ian Clark, formerly of the Jazz, Warriors, Nuggets and Pelicans.

“Fall will be an interesting fit in the China Basketball Association, a league not known for its defense,” noted Kurt Helin of NBC Sports. “That league’s season ends in February or March (depending on how long teams last in the playoffs), so he could get picked up by an NBA team for the end of the season.”
