Trailer released for ESPN Ben Simmons documentary ‘Being Ben’

Ben Simmons is back in the NBA. Soon, he’ll tell the story of how he got there.

ESPN has released the trailer for Being Ben, an E60 documentary produced in collaboration with Andscape. The program will air Oct. 18 at 4 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.

The documentary arrives as Simmons attempts to restart a career that once appeared headed toward superstardom. The former No. 1 overall pick became a three-time All-Star and two-time All-Defensive first-team selection before injuries, particularly recurring back problems, changed everything.

Simmons sat out the entire 2025-26 season while focusing on his health. The Kings signed him earlier this month after multiple workouts and extensive medical testing.

His one-year contract is non-guaranteed and worth up to $3.5 million, with $1 million coming if he makes Sacramento’s opening-night roster.

Former coach and godfather David Patrick recently said the Kings are getting a healthier and hungrier Simmons.
