Veteran Wing Tyreke Evans Reinstated By NBA

Former guard/forward Tyreke Evans has been reinstated by the NBA and will be eligible to sign with a team Friday, per Adrian Wojnarowskii of ESPN.Tyreke Evans

Evans had been banned for two years for repeated drug-related offenses. Recently, he has been working out in Miami with Rockets guard John Wall and free agent forward Michael Beasley, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Evans, 32, is 6-foot-6 and was the fourth overall pick by the Kings in 2009. He played his last NBA season in 2018-19 with the Pacers, averaging 10.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists.

Evans will be sure to draw plenty of interest as a strong ball-handler who plays an unselfish style of basketball. “He becomes a high-profile free agent addition to the buyout market,” Stein wrote.

Wojnarowski added, “Evans is considered to be in good physical condition and is expected to start making himself available to work out for teams.”
