Forward Draymond Green has strongly suggested he wants to return to the Warriors as a free agent and it appears the Warriors are feeling good about the possibility.
Per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Warriors are “optimistic” that Green will return, a source said.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said last week that most believe Green will be back with Golden State.
“The idea of continuing with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, and certainly Steve Kerr, I think it means the world to [Green],” ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said on SportsCenter, via RealGM. “It’s just a matter of negotiation. Is it a four-year deal? Is it a three-year deal?
“I don’t sense at all any real sense on either side that this could get sideways. It could happen, he becomes a free agent … but I think these sides are destined to reunite.”
Green, 33, is an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.
“I want to be a Warrior for the rest of my life,” Green said recently, via Mark Medina of Sportsnaut. “I want to ride out with the same dudes I rode in with. We put the work in to make that happen. … But there’s a bunch of things to take into account.”
Agent Rich Paul told Wojnarowski that several factors will be considered for Green in free agency. Green has also been linked to the Lakers and Kings.
