Anthony Davis predicts he’ll play all 82, Wizards will win 40-plus

Anthony Davis is setting lofty expectations for 2026-27. Not just for the Wizards, but for himself.

Appearing at Fanatics Fest, Davis told WizSkins he’ll suit up for all 82 regular-season games after injuries limited him to just 29 appearances since the blockbuster trade that sent him from the Lakers to the Mavericks in 2025.

Asked how many games he expects to play this season, Davis didn’t hesitate. “82.”

He also expressed confidence in Washington’s outlook after the club reshaped its roster around him and point guard Trae Young.

“We’re gonna have 40-plus wins,” Davis said when asked to predict the Wizards’ record.

As you know, Davis, Young and the rest will be joined by No. 1 overall pick in AJ Dybantsa, whom Davis predicted will capture Rookie of the Year honors.

“That was an easy question,” Davis said.

Davis didn’t appear in a game for the Wizards after arriving from Dallas at last season’s trade deadline, while Young played just five games following his own midseason arrival from Atlanta.

Meanwhile, the Wizards haven’t reached the 50-win mark since 1979 — back when the franchise was still known as the Bullets and was coming off back-to-back NBA Finals appearances.

Bottom line: Washington is hoping improved health will go a long way in changing that history. But that improved health will begin with Davis. He confidently predicted it will happen.
