Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley left the game vs. the Magic with a sprained left ankle in the second quarter of Monday’s 107-101 win and did not return.Evan Mobley

On the bright side for the Cavs, X-rays on the ankle were negative, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Given that the tests came back negative, Mobley is likely considered day-to-day.

Mobley is one point away from his 1,000th of the season. The severity of the injury had not yet been determined as of halftime and it it not known if Mobley will need to miss games.

The Cavs were already without center Jarrett Allen, forward Dean Wade and point guard Rajon Rondo. As we relayed earlier, Wade has been ruled out for the season after knee surgery.

The No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Mobley is averaging 15.8 points and 8.3 rebounds in 66 games, and considered the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year.

Hoops Wire will have more on Mobley as the news becomes available.
