Opposing fans aren’t the only ones who boo Bucks guard Grayson Allen, forever a basketball villain. His own teammates do it, too.
But Allen is OK with it, after playing extremely well in two road games against the Bulls, helping the Bucks take a 3-1 lead in their first-round series. Game 4 will now be held at Milwaukee.
“They have so much fun,” Allen said of his teammates, laughing. “I think it’s funny. I think it’s honestly hilarious. They’ve kind of turned it into a fun thing. It makes hearing it out there during the game a lot easier, too, because they think it’s so funny.”
Allen scored 27 points in Game 3, much to the dismay of the Chicago faithful. It was Allen, after all, who committed a flagrant foul on Bulls guard Alex Caruso earlier this season, causing Caruso to be sidelined for more than a month.
But there is no denying Allen has made a difference in this series — love him or loathe him.
“He’s played well here in Chicago,” coach Mike Budenholzer said. “I think some of it’s his best basketball. I think it’s just the competitor in him, the fight in him. It’s always there, but maybe it’s a little heightened when we’re here.”
