Cavaliers
The Cavaliers have waived rookie guard Zeke Mayo, according to NBA.com’s transaction log, clearing the way for him to join the Cleveland Charge.
Mayo, who signed an Exhibit 10 deal earlier in the week, played one season at Kansas after transferring from South Dakota State, where he earned Summit League Player of the Year honors in 2024.
The 6-foot-4 sharpshooter averaged 14.6 points and 4.8 rebounds for the Jayhawks while shooting 42.2 percent from beyond the arc.
He’s expected to sign a G League deal and report to the Charge, where he’ll be eligible for a bonus worth up to $85,300 if he remains on the roster for at least 60 days.
Nuggets
Denver has released center Moses Brown and forward Kessler Edwards, reports Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette.
Both were on Exhibit 10 contracts heading into camp.
Brown, 26, appeared in 13 NBA games last season with Indiana and Dallas but spent most of the year in the G League.
The Nuggets’ affiliate — the Grand Rapids Gold — recently acquired his returning rights, so Brown is expected to head there once he clears waivers.
The seven-foot journeyman has played for seven NBA teams since entering the league in 2019 and will look to earn another call-up through the G League route.
Celtics
The Celtics wrapped up their preseason roster moves by waiving Hason Ward and Aaron Scott, while also signing and waiving RJ Luis, according to NBA.com’s transaction log.
Boston now stands at 14 players on standard contracts — 12 fully guaranteed and two partially guaranteed — with all three two-way spots filled. They’re not expected to add a 15th player anytime soon given its proximity to the luxury tax threshold.
Ward, Scott, and Luis are all expected to join the Maine Celtics in the G League. Each will be eligible for a bonus worth up to $85,300 if they spend at least 60 days with Maine.
It’s the second time this month that Luis has been waived. Boston needed to re-sign him to ensure his Exhibit 10 bonus eligibility.
With these moves, the Celtics have their roster set for the regular season.
