The NBA will be dark on Christmas Eve, as it usually is, clearing the stage for one of the league’s most reliable traditions: A full Christmas Day showcase.
After Tuesday’s busy slate, the schedule jumps straight to Thursday with a five-game national lineup that begins at Madison Square Garden and stretches well past midnight on the East Coast.
There are no games scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 24. That’s by design. The league prefers to funnel all attention into Christmas Day, when it again leans into marquee matchups, star power, and wall-to-wall national coverage.
The day tips off at noon Eastern with the Cavaliers visiting the Knicks, followed by four more games that feature four of the last six NBA champions.
Here’s the full Christmas Day slate:
- Cavaliers at Knicks — Noon ET (ABC, ESPN)
- Spurs at Thunder — 2:30 p.m. ET (ABC, ESPN)
- Mavericks at Warriors — 5 p.m. ET (ABC, ESPN)
- Rockets at Lakers — 8 p.m. ET (ABC, ESPN)
- Timberwolves at Nuggets — 10:30 p.m. ET (ABC, ESPN)
It’s a familiar formula. No games the night before. All eyes on the league the next day. For the NBA, Christmas remains the closest thing it has to a guaranteed national window.
