Michael Porter Jr. has quietly put himself back on the trade radar.
Just six months after being viewed largely as a salary dump by Denver, the Nets forward has rebuilt his value with a strong first season in Brooklyn.
Through 26 games, Porter is averaging career highs across the board, including 25.8 points and 7.5 rebounds, while shooting nearly 50 percent from the field and better than 40 percent from three.
“At worst he’s returned to neutral value, which is a major development,” one veteran NBA executive told Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
Brooklyn has taken calls on Porter but is not actively shopping him, Fischer reports. Several league sources believe the Nets could look to accelerate their rebuild next offseason, particularly if they land a high pick in the 2026 draft, which could keep Porter’s asking price high at the deadline.
The Bucks are among the teams monitoring the situation, confirming a recent report from Sam Amick of The Athletic. Milwaukee continues to explore upgrades around Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Other teams have checked in over the past year, though league sources suggest Brooklyn is in no rush. Fischer listed the Warriors and Pistons as other potential Porter suitors.
Basically, Porter’s resurgence has given the Nets flexibility, and it has made one thing clear: He’s no longer just a contract. He’s an asset again.
