2022-23 NBA Uniform Tracker

Several NBA teams have already unveiled new uniforms for the 2022-23. Others have revealed their “City Edition” and/or classic edition looks. More are sure to come.

Here is a team-by-team look at what we know so far:

Pistons

The teal is back. Like it or not. What is so great about all these uniforms is they keeping bringing back everything we threw away in the 1990s. The Pistons are no exception.

Warriors

Speaking of the 1990s, the Warriors of the Run TMC era are among the most awesome teams to never reach the Finals. It was perhaps because they didn’t really care about defense. But the era of Chris Mullin, Mitch Richmond and Tim Hardaway should live on forever. And it will at least this season.

Bucks

Perhaps the best motto in all of sports is “Fear the Deer.” That’s probably why the Bucks never change it. But the new uniforms are really just OK. Frankly, they need to bring back the 1970s Marques Johnson-era unis.

Jazz

The Jazz are changing their colors to black, yellow and white. Whoever decided this was a good idea … well, that is anyone’s guess. But teams keep changing their color schemes because the NBA keeps allowing it, and you keep buying it up every time they do. So why not? Anyway, at least Utah will add three classic purples to the mix.

Lakers

The Lakers are going back to Minneapolis … and with the way they played last season, some Los Angeles fans may not mind. But seriously, this next season marks year No. 75 for the Lakers. In that sense, it’s pretty cool they’re breaking out a celebration of their Minny roots.

Wizards

The Michael Jordan-era look is back as part of the classic edition. This uniform only lasted a brief moment in time, as the Wizards have returned to their much cooler Bullets-era look. The only issue with the classic is the promotional video — which doesn’t show Jordan, the most popular player ever to wear it.

Of course, the Wizards will also sport some pink uniforms, as they announced in the spring.

Cavaliers

The new uniforms are a clean, crisp look, and that much is not up for debate. But the reaction has definitely been mixed. I wrote more about that right here.

Spurs

It’s hard to change a classic unless you really go out of your way, and the Spurs definitely have one of the NBA’s classic designs. They look the same almost every year, and that’s actually kind of nice. Still, they found a way to both alter their city design and return to their roots. With, of course, a tip of the cap to franchise legend George Gervin.
