It won’t be The Return Game, but Rudy Gobert and the Timberwolves will match up with the Jazz in the first month of the 2022-23 NBA season.
More precisely, the Jazz will pay a visit to the Timberwolves on Oct. 21, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, revealing yet another schedule leak.
Gobert, of course, was traded from the Jazz to the Timberwolves in an offseason blockbuster of a deal back that included five other players and multiple first-round picks.
Gobert, 30, is 7-foot-1 and a three-time Defensive Player of the Year. He spent all nine years of his career in Utah, averaging 15.6 points and a career-high 14.7 rebounds in 66 games last season, as well as 2.1 blocks.
The Jazz, of course, also hired former Celtics assistant Will Hardy as coach, and word has it, are looking to next trade star guard Donovan Mitchell. They have reportedly already given that idea numerous attempts.
Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are coming off a run to the first round of the playoffs and can now pair Gobert next to Karl-Anthony Towns to give them a pair of ultra-big lineup.
The NBA season is expected to open on Oct. 18.
