Patty Mills is taking his game overseas.

The NBA free agent has signed a rest-of-season contract with La Laguna Tenerife, the Spanish club announced. The team, also known as CB Canarias, competes in Spain’s top league and the FIBA Basketball Champions League.

It marks the first international stop for Mills outside of his long career with the Australia men’s national basketball team.

Mills, 37, spent 16 seasons in the league and last appeared during the 2024-25 season with the Los Angeles Clippers after a brief stint with the Utah Jazz.

Known for his energy and outside shooting, Mills owns career averages of 8.7 points and 2.2 assists in 921 NBA games while hitting 38.5 percent from three-point range.

His role had diminished in recent years, and he did not land an NBA deal last summer.

Mills has remained active off the court. He was hired last June as general manager of the men’s basketball program at University of Hawai‘i, where he has spent many offseasons during the past decade.
