Pacers emphasizing process amid difficult season

The Pacers have endured a challenging 2025-26 season after falling just short of a title last year, as David Aldridge of The Athletic details.

Indiana sits at 18-59 with five games remaining, having been hit hard by injuries throughout the season.

“We talk a lot about just staying with the process,” guard Andrew Nembhard said. “It’s the competitiveness, bringing that energy every night… It’s something you’ve got to work on. It’s only going to make us better for next season.”

The Pacers opened the year 1-13 and relied on multiple hardship signings as they dealt with a revolving roster.

Head coach Rick Carlisle said maintaining consistency has been a challenge.

“When things get like this, you’ve just got to find a way to operate that’s consistent and positive,” Carlisle said. “The players have been terrific.”

Carlisle added that the team’s character has helped it navigate a difficult year.

“If you don’t have that kind of character, something like this can be a lot more arduous,” he said.
