Bucks
The Giannis Antetokounmpo saga may finally be approaching a conclusion. And if the Bucks ultimately choose Boston’s offer, it sounds like Jaylen Brown would be just fine with that.
According to Kelly Iko of Yahoo Sports, there is a growing belief that Brown is open to a move to Milwaukee and may even be hoping the situation gets resolved sooner rather than later.
That’s notable because earlier reports suggested Brown wasn’t thrilled about the possibility of landing with the Bucks. Apparently, that may not be the case.
At this point, Boston and Miami continue to be viewed as the frontrunners for Antetokounmpo, with ESPN’s Shams Charania reporting Monday that the Celtics and Heat are the two finalists.
If Milwaukee chooses Boston’s package, Brown would likely become the centerpiece of the return.
The Bucks are also reportedly interested in young Celtics wing Hugo Gonzalez, whom Boston selected late in the first round last year.
Knicks
Jose Alvarado is getting a little more time.
According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, Alvarado and the Knicks have agreed to push back the deadline on his player option decision from June 22 to June 26.
That may not seem like a big deal on the surface.
Then again, Fischer also reported that New York remains active in trade discussions involving its draft picks, including Nos. 24 and 31.
Sometimes those things are connected.
Alvarado joined the Knicks at last season’s trade deadline and became a useful depth piece during New York’s championship run.
If he declines his option, he’ll become an unrestricted free agent.
Grizzlies
Tarik Biberovic‘s NBA future may finally be getting closer.
According to Fischer, multiple teams have expressed interest in acquiring the draft rights to the Fenerbahce standout, whose rights are currently owned by Memphis.
Biberovic has long been viewed as one of the better international prospects not currently in the NBA. The 25-year-old wing helped Fenerbahce capture the EuroLeague title and is widely regarded as an elite shooter.
He reportedly drew significant NBA interest last offseason before choosing to remain overseas.
Now the interest appears to be building again. Whether that leads to a deal with Memphis — or eventually a move to the NBA — remains to be seen.
