Lakers
The Lakers have reportedly checked in on another young Pelicans player.
According to SNY’s Ian Begley, Los Angeles has inquired about center Yves Missi, though New Orleans has shown little interest in discussing a deal.
“Multiple teams, including the Lakers, have reached out to the Pelicans about Yves Missi, but the Pelicans have resisted those offers,” Begley wrote.
Missi, 22, was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team in 2024-25 and remains one of New Orleans’ most promising young pieces. The former Baylor standout has already appeared in 139 NBA games and has recorded 199 blocked shots.
The Pelicans have also fielded trade interest in Trey Murphy III and Herbert Jones, though it remains unclear if they are willing to move any of their core young players.
Bulls
New Bulls forward Caleb Wilson isn’t lacking confidence.
After being selected with the No. 4 overall pick in the NBA Draft, Wilson was asked about joining one of the league’s most storied franchises and made it clear he has lofty ambitions.
“I want to be the greatest of all time,” Wilson told reporters. “Y’all got one of the GOATs in y’all history, so it’s time for another one.”
That’s a reference, of course, to Michael Jordan, whose legacy still looms large in Chicago.
Wilson enters the league as one of the most intriguing prospects in the draft class and is expected to become a major part of the Bulls’ rebuilding efforts alongside Matas Buzelis and the rest of the organization’s young core.
Knicks
The Knicks stayed busy on draft night, even if they ultimately moved out of the first round.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, New York traded No. 25 overall pick Sergio De Larrea to the Mavericks for No. 30 pick Koa Peat and two future second-round selections.
The Knicks then flipped Peat to the Suns for three second-round picks and cash considerations.
“Sources: New York traded No. 25 pick Sergio De Larrea to the Dallas Mavericks for No. 30 Koa Peat and two second-round picks,” Charania wrote on X. “And then the Knicks traded Peat to the Phoenix Suns for three second-rounders and cash.”
The series of moves leaves New York without a first-round selection from this draft but adds several future assets as the franchise continues to build around its veteran and championship-winning core.
