NBA Notes: Warriors, Jimmy Butler, Timberwolves, Jaylen Clark, Heat

Warriors

The Warriors aren’t doubting Jimmy Butler‘s ability to bounce back.

General manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. said he believes Butler can still be a highly productive player once he returns from the torn ACL he suffered in January.

“I do think when Jimmy returns, depending on his load that he can carry the amount of minutes, I do think he’ll be a very good player based on the way he plays,” Dunleavy said, via Kevin Borba of NBC Sports Bay Area. “The two best things about him are his mind and his physicality, and you don’t lose that with a hurt knee.”

Butler, 36, averaged 20.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists before the injury.

Timberwolves

The Timberwolves are bringing back Jaylen Clark, as the sides have agreed to a three-year, $10 million contract, per Chris Hine of the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Clark, 24, averaged 4.0 points and 1.8 rebounds in 68 games last season while showing promise as a perimeter defender.

With Donte DiVincenzo expected to miss most, if not all, of next season, Clark could be in line for a larger role as Minnesota continues reshaping its roster following the additions of LaMelo Ball and Josh Green.

Heat

The Heat have tendered a two-way qualifying offer to center Vladislav Goldin, according to Spotrac’s Keith Smith.

The move makes Goldin a restricted free agent after he appeared in nine games for Miami as a rookie last season.

Meanwhile, the Heat are expected to move on from guard Trevor Keels by declining to extend him a two-way qualifying offer, according to the Miami Herald’s Anthony Chiang. Keels will become an unrestricted free agent.
