Draymond Green had the opportunity to insist on a no-trade clause. He simply didn’t think it was worth it.

Speaking on his podcast, the longtime Warriors forward said he never pushed for one while negotiating his new one-year contract because, in his mind, there’s little sense in staying where you’re no longer wanted.

“I think it was something that we could have fought over, but it wasn’t worth fighting over,” Green said. “If the Warriors want to trade me at some point in the season, they want to trade me. I’ve never been a guy who wants to stay somewhere where I’m not wanted.”

Instead of a no-trade clause, Green received a 15 percent trade kicker, according to ESPN’s Anthony Slater.

The four-time NBA champion has spent his entire career with Golden State, and despite occasional trade speculation over the past year, both sides have consistently expressed a desire for him to finish his career with the Warriors.

“I think there is a partnership,” Green said. “If this works for us, it works. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.”

Nuggets

The Nuggets have added another veteran to their backcourt.

According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Denver has agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent guard Lonnie Walker IV.

Walker, 27, spent last season with Maccabi Tel Aviv after previously playing six NBA seasons with the Spurs, Lakers, Nets and Sixers. He averaged 15.2 points in EuroLeague play and most recently appeared in 20 games with Philadelphia during the 2024-25 NBA season.

Denver lost both Tim Hardaway Jr. and Jalen Pickett this offseason, making backcourt depth a priority.

Walker’s arrival could also signal the end of Bruce Brown‘s second stint with the Nuggets as the club continues sorting through the rest of its roster.

Clippers

The Clippers are making room for a pair of reported two-way signings.

According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Los Angeles is waiving guard Sean Pedulla after agreeing to two-way deals with Jalen Pickett and Jamarion Sharp.

Pedulla appeared in seven games with the Clippers last season but did most of his work in the G League, where he earned Rookie of the Year honors after averaging 23.6 points, 6.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds.

With NBA teams limited to three two-way players, the move clears another roster spot ahead of training camp.
