The Nuggets have waived veteran guard Lonnie Walker IV, according to the NBA’s official transaction log.
Walker had been in camp on a non-guaranteed deal, so Denver won’t carry any dead money from the move.
The 27-year-old appeared in two preseason games for the Nuggets and averaged 2.0 points in 8.6 minutes.
Walker has bounced between the NBA and Europe in recent years. He spent most of the past two seasons in the EuroLeague, playing for Zalgiris Kaunas and later Maccabi Tel Aviv, before getting another NBA opportunity with Denver.
He also recently signed with BeoBasket, the agency run by Misko Raznatovic, which could point toward another overseas move.
Walker was the 18th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft and spent his first four seasons with the Spurs. He later had stints with the Lakers, Nets and 76ers, and also spent part of a training camp with Boston.
Denver now has one opening on its preseason roster.
Sometimes these camp decisions are more about numbers than talent. Walker can still play. The question is whether his next chance comes in the NBA or overseas.
