Tony Bradley is returning to the team where his NBA career began.
The Jazz claimed the veteran center off waivers following his release by the Knicks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, via NBC Sports.
Bradley spent his first three NBA seasons with the Jazz after arriving in a draft-night trade in 2017. The Lakers selected him 28th overall before sending his rights to Utah.
His latest opportunity comes after competing for a reserve center job with the Knicks. New York waived Bradley, Drew Eubanks and Ochai Agbaji this week, then released Bruce Brown on Saturday, leaving James Wiseman on track to claim its 14th roster spot.
The Jazz had an opening after their own round of cuts. Earlier Saturday, they waived Jonas Aidoo and Tamar Bates and converted Harrison Ingram’s contract to a two-way deal.
Bradley’s addition fills their 15th standard roster spot and brings another experienced option to the frontcourt.
He played 41 games between the Pacers and Hawks last season. His role with the Jazz remains to be determined, but the waiver claim gives him another NBA opportunity without having to wait through the opening weeks of the season.
