Cavs list Jarrett Allen, Tyrese Proctor as questionable for Sixers

The Cavaliers could have Jarrett Allen and Tyrese Proctor available Friday after both left Wednesday’s loss to the Thunder with injuries. Whether either will play is still unsettled.

Allen is listed as questionable with a right knee contusion, while Proctor is questionable with a left ankle sprain on the NBA injury report. Peyton Watson is also questionable with a hamstring issue, and Jaylon Tyson remains out with an ankle injury.

Beyond Allen’s injury-report designation, the Cavs had not provided a further official update on his evaluation as of early Thursday evening.

Allen left late in the first quarter of Wednesday’s 124-116 loss after a knee-to-knee collision while setting a screen. He did not return.

“I don’t know yet, too early to determine,” coach Kenny Atkinson told reporters afterward. “So we’ll get looked at tomorrow and see what it looks like.”

Those comments came Wednesday night, before Thursday’s questionable designation. They offered no timetable, and the Cavs still haven’t announced one.

Proctor’s availability is another concern after an encouraging performance in his second career start. He scored 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting, including two 3-pointers, before leaving in the fourth quarter.

“Hopefully it’s not too bad,” Atkinson said after the game. “Came to it and it was a pretty good twist, though, pretty good. But he was good. What we expected, solid defensively, makes the right play offensively. Really, really good.”

Proctor has been giving the Cavs useful minutes while they work through injuries elsewhere in the rotation. Losing him would make finding consistency a little harder for a team already searching for it.

“When you go through some stuff like this and little hard times, guys are out, you discover things,” Atkinson said. “You always discover more about your team because you have different guys get more minutes. So that’s always the silver lining. He’s definitely taken advantage of his minutes so far.”

The Cavs enter Friday’s home game against the Sixers at 4-4. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
