The Pistons are prepared to turn away all offers for forward Bojan Bogdanovic ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Whether they are being sincere or not, however, remains to be seen, Stein added.
In recent weeks, Bogdanovic has been linked to the likes of the Cavaliers, Lakers, Hawks and others. It is believed nearly half the league has placed a call on Bogdanovic.
But as Stein wrote, “one league source went so far as asserting this week that the Pistons would refuse to surrender Bogdanovic even if offered that fully unprotected future first-round pick that everyone says Detroit covets.”
Bogdanovic, 33, is 6-foot-7 and averaging 21.4 points on 49 percent shooting, including 42 percent on 3-pointers, in his first season with the Pistons. He has also spent time with the Jazz, Pacers, Wizards and Nets.
- In related news, the Pistons are seeking “quality draft capital” in exchange for small forward Saddiq Bey and guard/forward Alec Burks, per Stein.
- Bey has been drawing interest from the Knicks, as we relayed here. But again, the Pistons don’t seem very eager to trade him.
- James Edwards III of The Athletic on Bogdanovic: “If a deal comes up that gives the Pistons an unprotected first-round pick, I think they seriously consider it.”
Free-agent guard Elfrid Payton has signed an @nbagleague contract, league sources say. Payton appeared in 50 games last season with the Suns.
