Reggie Jackson to Sign With Nuggets

Point guard Reggie Jackson intends to sign with the Nuggets after agreeing to a contract buyout with the Hornets, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Jackson, 32, is averaging 10.9 points and 3.5 assists in 52 games this season, all with the Clippers. He was traded to the Hornets in exchange for center Mason Plumlee ahead of Thursday’s deadline.

Jackson spent the first four seasons of his career with the Thunder after being drafted with the No. 24 overall pick in 2011. He then played six for the Pistons and was in his fourth with the Clippers.

Clearly, the Western Conference-leading Nuggets are looking to add backcourt depth after trading Bones Hyland to the Clippers, then adding star forward Kevin Durant and guard/forward T.J. Warren at the deadline. They also intend to sign guard/forward Terrence Ross, formerly of the Magic, as we relayed here.

Players must be waived by March 1 to be eligible for another team’s playoff roster.
