While the Hawks are discussing trades with multiple teams, they apparently aren’t listening when the name of star guard Trae Young is mentioned.
Per Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Young is not available. But among the Hawks, he may be the only one, as power forward John Collins is said to be available yet again. Already, the Mavericks and Suns have expressed interest in Collins, as we’ve relayed on our Hawks page.
As for guard Dejounte Murray, it appears the Hawks aren’t looking to move him, either — though from the sounds of things, they would if the price were right. For now, though, it would take a lot for the Hawks to make a deal involving Murray, Fischer suggested.
As for Young, forget it. He seemed to bond well with new coach Quin Snyder, viewed as a player’s coach. If so, that’s an interesting development, as Young supposedly had rocky relationships with previous coaches Nate McMillan and Lloyd Pierce.
Whatever the reason, it seems Atlanta is signaling that Young is untouchable.
