The reigning champion Nuggets intend to sign former Bucknell and Penn State shooting guard Andrew Funk and ex-Virginia guard Armaan Franklin to Exhibit 10 training camp contracts, per Mike Singer of the Denver Post.
Both spent time with the Nuggets’ summer league team in Las Vegas, though neither made a major impact.
Funk is 6-foot-5 and spent four college seasons at Bucknell before transferring to Penn State for his final year. He averaged 12.5 PPG and shot 41 percent on 3-pointers as a senior, with the vast majority of his field-goal attempts coming from behind the college 3-point line.
Franklin is 6-4 and spent two years at Indiana before transferring to Virginia, where he averaged 12.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in his final season.
Given that the Nuggets already have 15 players on standard deals, Funk and Franklin very well could be headed to the Grand Rapids Gold, the Nuggets’ G League affiliate.
An Exhibit 10 contract counts toward the camp and preseason roster, but only toward the regular-season roster if the player is signed to a standard deal.
The #Nuggets have reached exhibit-10s with Andrew Funk and Armaan Franklin, a league source told @denverpost.
