It’s no secret that the Nuggets are reaching the point of desperation when it comes to their lack of consistent scoring in reserve.
But word is, they’re scouring the market and have an interest in veteran guard Lonnie Walker IV, as reported by Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
“Denver has emerged as a ‘team to watch’ alongside Boston for Lonnie Walker’s potential NBA return as the season unfolds,” Stein wrote, citing NBA sources.
To make matters worse when it comes to depth, the Nuggets lost guard Jamal Murray to the concussion protocol for an indefinite amount of time. That means that Russell Westbrook has been starting, as opposed to coming off the bench.
Meanwhile, Walker recently signed with Lithuanian club Zaligris, though he has an NBA out until February.
Walker, 25, is 6-foot-4 appeared in 58 games with the Nets last season and averaged 9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, shooting 38.4% on 3-pointers.
Before the season, he was among several veteran free agents who worked out for the Kings. He was then waived by the Celtics in training camp.
