Jazz’s Collin Sexton Again Considered Among Players Who Could Be On Move

Collin Sexton’s future with the Utah Jazz is increasingly uncertain, with the team sitting on a solid asset in the explosive guard. NBA execs know this.Collin Sexton, NBA, Jazz

Coming off a season where Sexton posted a cap hit of $18.4 million and will earn $19.2 million in 2025-26, he remains a potential trade candidate, though he’s far from expendable.

His contract includes a $200,000 bonus tied to games played (62 or more) and his shooting efficiency (62% true shooting), and while there’s an additional $300,000 in unlikely bonuses, it all counts toward the apron, as noted by ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

These bonuses underscore how Sexton has managed to stay healthy and productive for the Jazz, making him an appealing player on the market.

Acquired as part of the Donovan Mitchell trade, Sexton has been efficient and effective in Utah. He’s shooting over 48% from the field and a sharp 39% from three-point range, with his mid-range game standing out as one of his strongest attributes.

According to Cleaning the Glass, Sexton ranks in the 86th percentile among all combo guards on shots between 4 and 14 feet. His consistency — he’s appeared in 97% of regular-season games since 2023-24 — has made him a dependable presence in the lineup.

However, with Utah possessing 13 first-round picks over the next seven years, they have no rush to move on from Sexton.

The team is also expected to be active on the trade market, with Sexton potentially joining Jordan Clarkson and John Collins as part of a package for the right deal.

Sexton is extension-eligible the day after the NBA Finals, which adds another layer of intrigue to his situation. For now, the Jazz are in a good position to hold onto Sexton, but if the right deal comes along, they won’t hesitate to pull the trigger.
