Trade Proposal Sends Bucks’ Khris Middleton To Trail Blazers

One NBA trade proposal is a simple deal that would involve just two players and perhaps help both teams. It sends Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for forward Jerami Grant.NBA, Blazers, Warriors, Bucks, Jerami Grant, Andrew Wiggins, Khris Middleton

That’s it. One for one. Done deal.

Middleton is averaging 12.7 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.4 rebounds. A one-time NBA champion with the Bucks, he’s still finding his rhythm after undergoing double-ankle surgery during the offseason.

And now, he’s being moved to a role off the bench by coach Doc Rivers, as Milwaukee looks for for continuity in the starting lineup.

“This move could benefit both Middleton and the Bucks, but it also sets up a possibility where the 33-year-old forward is traded. If his injury continues to be an issue or he does not do well with the adjustment, he can find a new home and Milwaukee could bring in someone like Grant,” wrote Davion Moore of Sporting News.

Grant is averaging 15.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists. He has recently missed time because of a facial contusion, “but when he does play, he is a focal point for the Blazers,” Moore noted.

Middleton could be the type of veteran and pro that the Blazers could use, much in the same manner Grant has been. Middleton, however, would bring with him a championship ring and stories (and experience) of playing next to Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“Grant is a two-way player that can help the duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard,” Moore wrote. “If the opportunity presents itself, acquiring Grant is something the Bucks should aggressively pursue.”
