The 76ers are set to sign forward Oshae Brissett to a 10-day contract, sources tell Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Brissett, 26, joined the G League in January after signing a deal and was later claimed off waivers by the Long Island Nets. In 11 regular season games with Brooklyn’s affiliate, he averaged 12.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
The forward was part of the Celtics’ championship team last season but declined a $2.46 million player option in June, seeking a larger role with another team. Brissett appeared in just 55 games in 2023-24, averaging 11.5 minutes per contest.
After going undrafted out of Syracuse in 2019, Brissett began his career with the Raptors on an Exhibit 10 contract. He earned a two-way deal in training camp but was waived the following year. Brissett then had a late-season opportunity with the Pacers, where he eventually became a regular rotation player before signing with Boston in 2023.
With the Sixers currently in 12th place in the Eastern Conference at 22-43, Brissett could see significant playing time.
Although Philadelphia has a full 15-man roster, the team can add Brissett through the hardship exception due to having four players sidelined for at least three consecutive games, with expected absences of two or more weeks.
Per Arthur Hill of Hoops Rumors: “As a five-year veteran, Brissett will earn $139,391 during his 10-day deal. Assuming it become official in time for tonight’s meeting with Indiana, he’ll be eligible to appear in six games before it expires March 23.”
