Andre Iguodala Says He’s Returning To Warriors

Free agent guard/forward Andre Iguodala intends to return the Warriors as an unrestricted free agent, he told Jonathan Abrams of The New York Times.<a rel=

Iguodala is an urestricted free agent after two seasons with the Heat. He had been linked to both the Warriors and Lakers since the end of the season.

“Who would have thought I’d have the opportunity to go back to the place where I was able to have, whatever you want to call it, legacy years, in terms of the accomplishments, winning multiple championships, the relationships that I was able to build with some of my closest friends and teammates?” Iguodala told Abrams

“The relationship with the fans, the relationship with the Bay, the opportunity to end it here, was just something special.”

Iguodala, 37, appeared in 63 games with Miami last season, compiling averages of 4.4 points and 3.5 rebounds. What he lacked in numbers was made up for on defense, as he remains one of the most accomplished in the league in that area.

He was named MVP of the 2015 Finals and is now set to rejoin the core of that team, from Stephen Curry to Draymond Green to a presumably finally healthy Klay Thompson.

Along with the Warriors, the Nets also drew consideration from Iguodala in free agency, reported Shams Charania of The Athletic. He will sign a veteran’s minimum deal with he Warriors, Charania reported.
