Anthony Edwards doesn’t think Timberwolves in running for LeBron James

If LeBron James ends up with the Timberwolves, it sounds like it’ll be news to Anthony Edwards.

“I have nothing to say about it because I’ve seen his top three teams. We’re not in it,” Edwards said when asked about James’ free agency at Fanatics Fest, via Kyle Ingram.

Edwards is referring to the Cavaliers, 76ers and Heat — the top three incredibly unofficial teams that James is considering. The Warriors are also in that mix. So are the Nuggets. So were the Timberwolves.

Again, this all according to reports and all the betting sites. None of it is according to James, agent Rich Paul, or the bakery lady in Cleveland.

While a lot of national insiders (and plenty of internet hacks) have indeed listed the Cavs, Sixers and Heat as the leaders in the clubhouse, no one really knows where James will go.

Except, perhaps, for maybe Edwards.

As you likely know by now, James left no clues during two separate appearances at Fanatics Fest, where he took the stage to record a couple of podcasts.

“We do not have an announcement to make just yet,” he said Friday, via ESPN’s Kalan Hooks.
