The Taiwanese league is clearly trying to fill out its teams with some notable NBA free agents, with Dwight Howard also signing there recently. Also, Carmelo Anthony, Isaiah Thomas and Enes Freedom have also been linked to Taiwan, as we relayed here.
Daye’s agents first relayed the news to Emiliano Carchia of Sportando last week.
Daye, 34, is 6-foot-9 and was drafted by the Pistons with the No. 15 overall pick in 2009. He last played in the NBA with the Hawks in 2015. He has also spent time with the Grizzlies, Raptors and Spurs.
The son of former NBA forward Darren Daye, Austin Daye has also spent time in the G League, as well in Israel, Italy and Turkey.
He appeared in six preseason games with the Cavaliers ahead of their championship season of 2015-16, but was waived before the first game.
