Blazers’ Damian Lillard Expects to Miss Time With Calf Strain

Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard was forced to exit Saturday’s loss to the Jazz after re-aggravating a right calf strain and indicated he expects to miss some games, per Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com.Damian Lillard

Lillard missed time with the same injury earlier this month. He again underwent an MRI on his calf Saturday night, saying that it doesn’t feel as bad as last time, per Holdahl.

Lillard, 32, is off to another fantastic start, as the Blazers’ have become one of the West’s early surprises. He is averaging 26.3 points and 7.0 assists, shooting 42 percent from the field.

But with age often comes injury, and Lillard has seemingly suffered quite a few over the past year-and-a-half.

Meanwhile, Lillard said he’s not overly worried about the fact the Blazers have dropped two straight at home.

“I’m not concerned. I think this is part of it. We’ve had game-winners, we’ve won tough games, we’ve won road games, we’ve had a good start,” he told reporters. “We’re 10-6 with a tough schedule. We’ve played some good teams.”
