Bucks on Lookout for Backup Point Guard

Now that the Bucks landed Damian Lillard in the three-team trade with the Trail Blazers and Suns, well, what’s next?Jon Horst

How about a veteran to back up Lillard?

That seems to be what the GM Jon Horst is seeking now, as relayed by Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports. One of those targets could be former Suns point guard Cameron Payne, Fischer added.

Hoops Wire has learned that Ish Smith and George Hill are potentially on Milwaukee’s radar as well.

Of course, there are plenty of other options out there, and the Bucks are expected to give the likes of second-year man A.J. Green or third-year man Lindell Wigginton an opportunity during the preseason.

Either way, they will have to find someone soon, given that Lillard is 33 and can’t really be expected to play 48 minutes every night. Or really anything close.
