The Chicago Bulls and Josh Giddey could agree to a deal “in the $65 million to $70 million range,” according to NBA insider Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
Giddey is a restricted free agent.
“Josh Giddey and the Chicago Bulls are expected to reach a resolution on a new contract, likely in the three-year range, by the end of August,” Siegel wrote. “The Bulls could increase their offer, but they have stood firm on keeping a new deal in the $20 million AAV range. The latest speculation from agents not involved in negotiations suggests something in the $65 million to $70 million range.”
Giddey averaged 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 blocks last season for the Bulls while shooting 46.5% from the field, 37.8% from beyond the arc and 78.1% from the free-throw line. The talented point-forward recorded 30 double-doubles and seven triple-doubles.
Chicago acquired Giddey from the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Alex Caruso trade. Caruso helped the Thunder win the 2025 championship against the Indiana Pacers in seven games, while Giddey and the Bulls missed the 2025 playoffs.
Giddey turns 23 in October. He has career averages of 14.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks with the Thunder and Bulls.
The Bulls have made the postseason only once (2022) since trading Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves on draft night in 2017. 2011 MVP Derrick Rose was traded by Chicago to the New York Knicks in 2016. The Bulls are 3-8 in the playoffs since trading Rose.
Chicago lost to the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2017 playoffs in six games and fell to the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 2022 playoffs in five games.
The Bulls, who gave head coach Billy Donovan an extension this offseason, traded Lonzo Ball to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Isaac Okoro in July.
