Cam Reddish ‘Most Likely’ of Trade Candidates for Knicks

Forward Cam Reddish is the player the Knicks are most likely to move should they make a trade, per Steve Popper of Newsday.Cam Reddish

With another uneven start to the season, the Knicks are apparently looking to shake things up, at least to some degree, as we relayed here.

And as we also relayed, they are working with Reddish’s reps to find a trade, something Popper wrote about in a separate piece.

“While Reddish started eight games this season and displayed the athleticism that has teased teams, the potential remains higher than the finished product, and the defense isn’t up to what the Knicks and (coach Tom Thibodeau) demand.” Popper wrote. “… The Knicks surrendered a first-round pick for Reddish, but the current price appears to be  a second-round pick or a player on a rookie contract with a different skill set.”

So trading Reddish probably won’t be easy, and the Knicks definitely don’t want to just give him away.

Per Ian Begley of SNY.tv, the Knicks have spoken to the Lakers recently, but would need a third team to pull off a deal.

Along with Reddish, the Knicks reportedly have made guards Evan Fournier, Derrick Rose and Immanuel Quickley available.

Along with that, the Knicks have been linked to free agent forward Carmelo Anthony, but per Popper, are not actually interested in a reunion. (Full post.)

Reddish, for his part, denied that he is seeking a trade.

“I haven’t requested any trades. I have not,” Reddish said, via Peter Botte of the New York Post. “Y’all seem to know more than me, for real. I don’t know what y’all talking about, but I haven’t requested no trade. Nothing like that.”
