Cavs at Bulls: It’s getting close to momentum time

The Cavaliers are back on the road. Again.

This time it’s Chicago, as the Cavs continues their road swing looking to stack a couple wins. They got one Tuesday in Milwaukee after that clunker against Dallas. Not perfect, but better. Defense showed signs. That’s something.

Now will come a Bulls team on the second night of a back-to-back. That matters.

Cleveland sits at 42-27 and still trying to lock in positioning in a crowded East. Chicago? Different story. The Bulls are 28-40 (entering Wednesday) and playing more for development than anything else.

Still, no freebies. Josh Giddey has been active. Matas Buzelis is coming on. There are pieces there that can make you work if you’re not locked in.

For the Cavs, it starts with the usual. Donovan Mitchell. James Harden. And how well they control the tempo.

With Jarrett Allen out, Evan Mobley carries even more responsibility inside.

The expected lineup has Harden, Mitchell, Keon Ellis, Dean Wade and Mobley. It’s a group that can score, but the key is on the other end. Limit breakdowns. Stay connected.

Simple stuff. Not always easy. Chicago will run. Cleveland will try to dictate.

And if the Cavs are serious about building momentum heading into the final stretch, this is one they should handle.

Then again, March has a way of making things interesting.
