Cavs’ Dean Wade Expected To Miss At Least Three Weeks

Cavaliers power forward Dean Wade is expected to miss several weeks after suffering a partial meniscus tear in his right knee, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.Dean Wade

The Cavs, of course, are already without All-Star center Jarrett Allen, who is hoping to return from a broken finger within the next three weeks, as we relayed here. Losing Wade creates another hole in the frontcourt.

Wade, 25, is 6-foot-9 and averaging 5.3 points and 46 percent from the field. He has appeared in 51 games, starting eight, and is among a Cavs’ group of “stretch fours” that also includes Lauri Markkanen and Kevin Love.

Per Chis Fedor of Cleveland.com, the hope is that Wade will be able to return by the end of the regular season or start of the playoffs. Fedor added that Wade is expected out three-to-four weeks.

The Cavs play five games in the next 10 days, starting with Monday’s home matchup vs. LeBron James and the Lakers.
