Cavs’ Jarrett Allen Named All-Star Replacement

Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen has been named the All-Star Game replacement for injured 76ers guard James Harden, the NBA announced.Jarrett Allen

Allen is in his fifth NBA season and this will mark his first All-Star appearance. He is averaging career-highs in points (16.2) rebounds (11.1) and field-goal percentage (67 percent), to go along with 1.35 blocks.

This year’s game is in Cleveland, on Sunday, and Allen joins fellow Cavs teammate Darius Garland, selected as reserve by coaches.

Allen was named a replacement by NBA commissioner Adam Silver, getting the nod over Raptors forward Pascal Siakam and Heat power forward Bam Adebayo.

This is the first time the Cavs have had multiple All-Star players since 2017-18, when LeBron James and Kyrie Irving made it — and the first non-James Cavs team to feature multiple All-Stars since 1992-93 (Brad Daugherty, Mark Price and Larry Nance).
