Celtics to introduce Paul George, Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley on Tuesday

The Celtics’ remodeled roster will get its official photo opportunity Tuesday.

Boston will introduce Paul George, Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley at the Auerbach Center, according to Noa Dalzell. President of basketball operations Brad Stevens and coach Joe Mazzulla will also attend.

George is the obvious headliner. The nine-time All-Star arrived from Philadelphia in the trade that sent Jaylen Brown to the 76ers, ending the long-running Jayson Tatum-Brown partnership and making George the centerpiece of Boston’s latest attempt to remain near the top of the Eastern Conference.

Obviously, there are questions. George is 36 and has played more than 56 games just once over the past seven seasons. The Celtics don’t need him to become Brown. They do need him to stay healthy enough to supply secondary scoring and two-way wing play alongside Tatum.

Robinson gives Boston some needed size and rim protection, while Conley brings experience, composure and another steady ball-handler to a backcourt featuring Derrick White and Payton Pritchard.

Tuesday won’t tell us whether any of it will work. Introductory press conferences mostly deliver jerseys, handshakes and several variations of “excited to be here.”

Still, Stevens traded a franchise cornerstone and reshaped a contender. Tuesday is when he and Mazzulla begin publicly explaining the bet.
