The Cavaliers have been dominant in their first two playoff games of 2024. Hey, a lot of people predicted otherwise.
But what could they aim to improve on now that their first-round series vs. the Magic is shifting to Orlando? Well, perhaps some things. Mostly, they just need to keep doing what they’re doing.
I discussed all that and a lot more with Andy Baskin and Jeff Phelps on 92.3 The Fan ahead of Game 3. Give a listen at this link or simply via the player directly below.
In other news, Cleveland will be without forward Dean Wade for the remainder of the series.
Per the Cavs, Wade recently underwent an MRI on a right knee sprain that has kept him sidelined since March 13. He’s continuing daily rehab but still needs time to fully heal. There’s no timeline for his return — other than it won’t be in the first round.
Wade is considered one of the Cavs’ top defenders and offers an additional outside shooting threat. He made an underrated impact when he was able to stay on the court this season. Unfortunately for Wade and the Cavs, that’s not been nearly enough.
In 54 games this season, Wade averaged 5.4 points and 4.0 rebounds, shooting 39 percent on 3-pointers. He made 32 starts his year. Unfortunately, he missed the end of last season and the playoffs, too.
The Cavs head to Orlando with a 2-0 series lead. They have yet to trail in either of the first two games.
