Ex-Wolves Guard Bryn Forbes Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge

Free agent guard Bryn Forbes has been arrested in San Antonio on a misdemeanor family violence charge, per Dillon Collier and Ben Spicer of KSAT, via Hoops Rumors.Bryn Forbes

Forbes, 29, formerly played for the Spurs and Timberwolves. He was waived by Minnesota last week to make room for newcomers Mike Conley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker after a multi-team, eight-player trade to make room for the newcomers.

San Antonio police said Forbes and the woman he’s been dating were out together when he became upset, before driving to their home, where an altercation occurred. The woman required medical attention after being struck several times by Forbes, police said. He was taken into custody following the incident.

Forbes is 6-foot-2 and has been viewed as a perimeter-shooter-for-hire, though he averaged just 3.6 points and 30 percent on 3-pointers in 25 games with the Timberwolves this season.

He spent the first four years of his career with the Spurs, before playing for the Bucks and returning to San Antonio. He also has spent time with the Nuggets.

Forbes was arrested at 5:15 a.m. on Wednesday and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
