The NBA Draft is still about two weeks away. But according to Bill Simmons, the Giannis Antetokounmpo situation may not wait that long.
As highlighted by Carlos Yakimowich of Roundtable, Simmons recently suggested on his podcast that if the Bucks ultimately decide to trade Antetokounmpo, a deal could arrive sooner than many expect.

To be clear, Simmons stressed that he was offering a prediction rather than reporting specific information.
Still, he believes the timing could surprise people.
“I feel like there’s gonna be a big trade soon,” Simmons said. “Like Giannis, I don’t think that gets super close to the draft.”
Simmons theorized that the NBA often allows the Finals to remain the primary focus before blockbuster offseason moves begin dominating headlines. With that in mind, he suggested a major deal could potentially come together before draft week arrives.
Heat continue to be linked
Simmons also mentioned the Heat as one possible landing spot.
Miami has frequently surfaced in Giannis speculation, thanks in part to its collection of assets and longstanding reputation for pursuing star players whenever they become available, as Yakimowich noted.
Any potential package would almost certainly require significant draft compensation and salary matching.
Nothing appears imminent
That said, there is no indication that Antetokounmpo has requested a trade or that Milwaukee is actively shopping its franchise player.
Recent reporting around the league has suggested the Bucks continue to evaluate their options while rival teams monitor the situation closely.
As we’ve written previously, the Heat and Trail Blazers have been among the teams most frequently connected to Antetokounmpo, while clubs such as the Celtics, Warriors and Timberwolves have also surfaced in various reports and speculation.
