As the NBA continues to wait for a final resolution to the Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bucks situation, two Eastern Conference teams continue to surface.
According to Sam Amick and Eric Nehm of The Athletic, Antetokounmpo remains intrigued by the possibility of playing for either the Heat or Celtics should his long run with the Bucks come to an end.
The Heat have long been viewed as a potential destination for the two-time MVP.

“The rumors of Giannis’ openness to Miami have persisted for years,” Amick and Nehm wrote, noting that Antetokounmpo has long admired the organization’s culture and commitment to winning.
The bigger question, however, is whether Miami could remain a legitimate championship contender after surrendering the assets necessary to acquire a player of Antetokounmpo’s caliber.
That concern appears to be part of the equation.
According to The Athletic, Antetokounmpo is also intrigued by the prospect of joining Boston, a team that may be better positioned to remain competitive even after completing a blockbuster trade.
While the Celtics were eliminated in the first round this season, they still possess one of the deeper rosters in the league and could offer a clearer path back to immediate title contention.
By all accounts, Antetokounmpo’s primary focus is winning championships.
The future Hall of Famer delivered Milwaukee’s first title in 50 years when the Bucks defeated the Suns in the 2021 NBA Finals. Since then, however, the franchise has won just one playoff series and missed the postseason entirely this year.
As a result, speculation surrounding Antetokounmpo’s future has intensified.
League executives, agents and rival teams continue to monitor the situation closely, with many believing the Heat remain the team to watch. Antetokounmpo and Miami star Bam Adebayo also share the same representation, a connection that has fueled speculation in league circles for years.
