Authorities are investigating the death of Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke, with officials examining the possibility of an overdose, according to multiple reports.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical emergency call at a residence around 5 p.m. Monday. Paramedics arrived and Clarke was pronounced dead at the scene, NBC4 reported.

Officials said drug paraphernalia was found inside the home. The cause and manner of death have not been determined. An autopsy is pending. Clarke was 29.
The Grizzlies confirmed his death earlier Tuesday, calling it a “tragic loss” and remembering him as “an outstanding teammate and an even better person.” NBA commissioner Adam Silver also issued a statement, offering condolences to Clarke’s family, friends and the organization.
Clarke spent seven seasons with Memphis after entering the league as the 21st overall pick in the 2019 draft. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team and averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds over 309 career games.
His death has sent shockwaves through the basketball community.
Authorities have not released additional details as the investigation continues.
