Hornets, Timberwolves Express Interest in Nuggets’ Bones Hyland

The Timberwolves and Hornets are among the teams that have registered an interest in Nuggets guard Bones Hyland, per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report/TNT.Bones Hyland

Both of the aforementioned have “for sure” expressed interest in Hyland, Haynes added while speaking with Marc Stein of The Stein Line on the This League Uncut podcast.

Haynes went on to say that Nuggets owner Josh Kroenke didn’t like how president of basketball operations Tim Connelly exited when Connelly left for the Timberwolves. So there potentially may be no move there “out of spite.”

At any rate, the Nuggets want to give more playing time to rookie guard Christian Braun, which is another reason Hyland is likely to be moved, Haynes added

“They’re looking for a veteran presence (in exchange for Hylwand),” Haynes said.

Hyland, for his part, has indicated he is not letting the trade rumors hold him back.

“I don’t care. It doesn’t bother me at all,” he told Harrison Wind of DNVR. “I don’t pay no mind to it. Whatever happens, happens. I know God’s got me. I don’t really care.”

Hyland, 22, is 6-foot-3 and averaging 12.1 points and 3.0 assists, shooting 40 percent from the field in his second NBA season, both with the Nuggets. Most across the league seem to believe he is truly on his way out in Denver.

Meanwhile, the Hornets reportedly are open to trading everyone from guard Terry Rozier to guard/forward Kelly Oubre to small forward Gordon Hayward to center Mason Plumlee.

Rumors involving the Timberwolves have centered on guard D’Angelo Russell and center Naz Reid, though Minnesota seems reluctant to move either, per reports.
