Jayson Tatum questionable, Paul George probable for Celtics-Sixers Game 7

The Celtics may not be at full strength for Game 7.

That’s because Jayson Tatum has been downgraded from active to questionable due to left knee stiffness, the Celtics announced. Not ideal timing.

Tatum tried to downplay the issue after Game 6. Now it is clearly something to watch heading into Saturday night.

This, of course, is no small thing. Tatum has averaged 23.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 6.8 assists in the series. Boston will need all of that, especially with momentum swinging toward the 76ers.

Philadelphia has its own note. Paul George is listed as probable due to illness, as relayed by PHLY Sports. That suggests he is expected to play.

The Sixers have taken the last two games to even the series after trailing 3-1. The Celtics still have home court, but that has not meant much so far. Boston has already dropped two of three at home in this series.

So here it is. Game 7 in Boston. Tatum uncertain. Sixers surging.

“I’m finally enjoying it now that I’m able to do things I was once able to do again,” George said, via The AP. “It’s fun again. It’s like seeing who I am again.”
